Overview

India offers diverse opportunities for tourism, be it leisure or business. Over 5 million foreign tourists came to India in 2007. By comparison, domestic tourism is significantly greater. Recent statistics reveal that India is likely to witness a further increase in both domestic and international tourist strength. This growth would need to be serviced by substantial increase in infrastructure including air, rail, road as well as in hotels and restaurants.

There are an estimated 1.2 million hotel rooms in the country of which a mere 7% (approx. 80000) are in the star category. Four and five star hotels employ 162 people per 100 rooms as against 122 persons for one, two and three star hotels. There are almost 750 lakh people employed in hotel industry across India, besides those employed in the unorganized sector.

Annual demand for trained manpower in hotels and restaurants is approximately 2.03 lakhs per year. Huge expansions are envisaged in the fast food / cafe segment as well as the 1 to 3 star budget hotels.

The alarming fact is that a huge 30% to 40% do not join the hospitality industry and move on to join other emerging sectors.

Osteen Group Started the Hotel Management with an aim to train students who wish to flourish in the field of Hotel industry. The Course focuses on core aspects of hospitality with a mix of management subjects in order to have in-depth knowledge.

Students are given extensive practical training which focuses more on providing wide exposure keeping in relation to the operations of leading star hotels and restaurant chains.

DIPLOMA IN HOTEL MANAGEMENTEligibility: 10th or 10 + 2.
